2009 Pet People Award Winners Announced!
Dogs Life magazine and the Pet Industry Association of Australia are excited to announce the winners of the 2009 Pet People Awards. The awards recognise the hard work and commitment of Australian businesses to keeping Aussie pets happy and healthy over the past year.
Dogs Life editor Tim Falk was thrilled with the success of this year’s awards. “Our readers sent in over 600 nominations for a total of 83 businesses. It was no easy task to pick the winners from such an impressive field of nominees, but we managed to narrow it down to the four standout entries. The businesses and people who have won this year should be very proud of what they have achieved,” he said.
Falk was one member of the awards judging panel, along with Australian Veterinary Association President Dr Mark Lawrie and Chairman of Dogs NSW, Frank Pieterse.
Dr Joanne Sillince, the CEO of the Pet Industry Association, which co-sponsors the competition, was delighted to endorse the decision of the judges and congratulate the winners.
“These caring pet businesses have beaten an amazingly high-quality field to be recognised nationally in their categories and they can now celebrate being the ‘best of the best’,” she said.
With more than 600 nominations, the majority of which are Pet Industry Association members, this competition shows the quality standards being forged across the pet industry.
“Pets are being cared for better and better every year and good businesses are really making a positive impact on pet care,” Dr Sillince noted.
